HIV/AIDS RATE 5 TIMES HIGHER FOR BLACK WOMEN IN URBAN HOTSPOTS
The HIV infection rate for Black women in urban settings is 5 times higher than the national average. The hotspots: Atlanta, GA, New York City, Raleigh-Durham, NC, Newark, NJ, Baltimore, MD and Washington, D.C. A Black woman living in these cities is as likely to contract HIV as a Black woman living in the Congo!

BLACK WOMEN BATTLE BREAST CANCER
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women. Black women are 10% less likely to have been diagnosed with breast cancer; however, we are 34% more likely to die from breast cancer, compared to white women. “African American women have been ignored by the Susan G. Komen Foundation.” Meet the Black women and organizations stepping up to fill the void, and battling Black women’s breast cancer head on.
BLACK WOMEN BUY GUNS IN RECORD NUMBERS
Black women are buying up hand guns in record numbers. The number one reason for the boost in new Black female handgun owners is protection. Crime statistics for Black women have always been higher for Black Women than any other race of women in American. Sisters are now exercising their Second Amendment Right, and leveling the playing field.
DEPRESSION AFFECTS STRONG BLACK WOMEN TOO
Black women don’t like to admit it, but nearly 30% of our population is clinically depressed. In our communities, it is a badge of honor to be considered a “strong black woman”. The persevering sister that holds up through all manner of adversity is exactly what’s expected of a Black Woman. Depression is seen by many as a sign of weakness.
Black women age 36-49 have a median accumulated wealth of only $5.00 (USD). In comparison, white women age 36-49 have a median accumulated wealth of $42,600.00 (USD). The study goes on to detail the fact that beyond age 50, Black Women are BROKE…having a net worth of less than five dollars!
In the game of chess, with its many parallels to real life, the most formidable player on the board is the Queen. As the great chess master, James Mason, once said, “Every pawn is a potential queen.” So why is it that some women remain “pawns”, or maidens, or unwillingly single their whole lives; while other women are able to cross the threshold into matrimony? Only a real and authentic Queen knows how to receive her crown.
You’re all familiar with the shocking statistics by now. Black women spend $60 million every weekend on hair care! Black women spend $60 million every weekend on entertainment! As a demographic, black women are the least financially secure group in the country. Could it be you simply don’t know how or where to begin downsizing your diva?
