Georgia Teen Ervin Johnson Killed by Security Guards
March 26, 2012 in Community Care, U.S. Domestic Terrorism
Ervin Johnson, an 18-year-old unarmed Black teenager, was reportedly shot and run over by apartment security guards on March 25, 2012. According to a report by WSBTV, two security guards at the Village at Wesley Chapel Apartments were “checking out a suspicious car around 10:30 when they heard gunfire.”
The security guards were not in the apartment complex, but just outside Johnson’s home. The guards told Dekalb Police “Jefferson exited his home and walked towards them aggressively.” Both security guards began firing at the unarmed teenager, fatally wounding him in the chest.
According to Jefferson’s father, Ervin Jefferson Jr, his son was an innocent bystander, trying to break up a fight involving his sister. The guards left the scene and returned to the apartment complex to meet Police officers. Charges have not been filed and the family has been unable to claim the body.
The family is calling for an investigation and justice for the murder of Ervin Johnson, yet another unarmed Black teenager.
