U.S. Restructuring Homeland for Civil Unrest
March 31, 2012 in US Report
The United States government is restructuring the Homeland for civil unrest, through increased law enforcement, increased privatization and a steady decline and stripping away of citizens rights and civil liberties. The estimated number of law enforcement officers in the United States of America: 1,460,993. There are more stateside law enforcement officers than there are personnel in the entire United States military, which is approx. 1,458,219.
According to the most recent data provided by the US Department of Justice, state and local law enforcement agencies employed about 1,133,000 officers on a full-time basis in 2008. This number has increased significantly over the past 4 years. As the size of federal government has grown, so have the number of law enforcement personnel at the federal level. The DOJ (Department of Justice) employs 111,993 law enforcement officers and has an annual budget of nearly $30 billion. The DHS (Department of Homeland Security) employs 216,000 law enforcement officers and has an annual budget of $55.1 billion.
The Department of Homeland Security is purchasing 625 million rounds of ammunition. “US agents will receive 450 million rounds” of extremely lethal .40 caliber hollow point bullets from defense contractor ATK. The Department also has an open bid for 175 millions rounds of .223 caliber ammo (nearly identical to the 5.56 rounds used by NATO forces). Bear in mind that the Department of Homeland Security is not a branch of the U.S. Military, but rather a division of Homeland law enforcement.
Beyond an increased police presence on the streets and in every other arena of American life, we are also witnessing the disappearance of nearly all our civil liberties and citizens rights. The NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) has made the indefinite detention and imprisonment of American citizens, without charge or trial, a LAW. We know the U.S. Government, with 7.1 million citizens under correctional supervision, the highest rate of incarceration in the world, has no problem imprisoning it’s citizens. Law enforcement, or the domestic army of the 1%, are stopping the right to assemble and protest. We’ve witnessed this with the pepper-spraying of Occupiers and the dismantling of Occupy camps.
In the case of Trayvon Martin, we’ve seen law enforcement circumvent justice by refusing to arrest admitted killer, George Zimmerman. The 4th amendment rights of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. were clearly violated by law enforcement when they broke down his door, without any warrant or even probable cause, and killed the 68 year-old veteran.
The 2nd amendment right to bear arms for non-felons is no longer law in many states. Often, local law enforcement has the final
determination as to whether an individual can legally purchase a firearm; and that determination can be based on something as superficial as a citizen’s moral character. The are the same police that are given license now to sidestep laws, gun down innocent citizens and claim “justifiable homicide”, as was the case with Rekia Boyd.
The FBI, DHS and other law enforcement agencies, as well as some manufacturing firm and even academic institutions have been authorized given permissions by the U.S. Government to operate DRONES in the United States if America. The armed, unmanned aircraft are currently patrolling U.S. skies and U.S. citizens are under surveillance.
The privatization of prisons , airports, local municipality facilities, schools, etc… is paving the way for the wealthy 1% to have more control and dominion over the citizens. In most instances, the laws protecting citizens in these industries and facilities become null and void. The government is in effect adding a layer of protection that insulates it from being beholden to the people.
The U.S. government is even pushing and supporting the privatization of the food supply, allowing Monsanto and Dupont’s genetically modified seeds to dominate the entire seed industry. With the $1 billion forecasted contributions to political campaigns, thanks to new SuperPAC legislation, the government, at every level is literally up for sale. From buying up seeds, farmland, mortgages, or government, solely supported by taxpayer dollars, is ramping up its effort wrestle power away from a restless people.
The United States government has increased its intrusion in the biological reproductive rights of women and increased its neglect for the rights of voters. As civil unrest mounts due to increased employment opportunities, unfair housing practices and the heinous murder of U.S. citizens by law enforcement and vigilantes protected by law enforcement; the U.S. government is subduing its citizens and ramping up for a war.
625 million additional rounds of ammunition… The Department of Homeland Security does not engage in foreign wars. Who do you think the bullets are for?
